DRAMA DEL ROSARIO is a documentary filmmaker based in Los Angeles and originally from Manila, Philippines. He is the winner of the inaugural BAFTA-GSA Commissioning Grant in 2019 for his personal documentary I'm Okay (And Neither Are You) on sexual assault trauma from a gay couple's perspective. He is also the Juried Prize Winner at the PBS Short Film Festival 2020 and the winner of the Loni Ding Award in Social Issue Documentary at CAAMFest 2019 for his personal documentary In This Family, which follows his coming out story as a gay teenager in the Philippines.

As a queer filmmaker, Drama directs documentary films that challenge his traditional upbringing. Through the years, he has received numerous accolades from Outfest Fusion, Doc Edge Festival, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and many more film festivals around the world. He has also worked with international names including Billy Porter (Emmy Winner, Pose), BeBe Zahara Benet (Winner, RuPaul's Drag Race, Season 1), and Sophie Sumner (Winner, America's Next Top Model, Cycle 18).

 

Originally from the Philippines, Drama graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2016 with a BA in Communication. He later moved to the US and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the New York Film Academy (Los Angeles Campus) in 2019 with an MFA in Documentary.

 

Currently, he is the Senior Video Producer for Believe LTD, an award-winning digital content agency in Los Angeles. He is also an alumnus of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and serves on the selection panel for awards and grants presented by BAFTA Los Angeles. His most recent documentary I'm Okay (And Neither Are You) was released in 2020.

During his free time, he loves to bake cookies and cheesecakes.
